Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, participated in the event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance held in Beijing. The event saw the attendance of many heads of state, governments, and delegations from various countries. The minister attended the massive military parade held at the famous Tiananmen Square in the heart of Beijing, which included thousands of soldiers and hundreds of advanced Chinese weapons.

A commemorative photo was taken of the heads of state, governments, and participating delegations with Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, and his wife. The envoy representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also participated in the reception hosted by the Chinese President in honor of the attending dignitaries, in addition to watching the artistic performance held as part of the Chinese celebrations.

The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s congratulations to Xi Jinping on this occasion, wishing China and its people further progress and prosperity. He confirmed that the geopolitical circumstances surrounding the Middle East region prevented President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from attending the celebration. The minister also emphasized the president’s directives to support and strengthen bilateral relations with China in various fields.

He pointed out the importance and strength of Egyptian-Chinese relations, which have reached the level of a “comprehensive strategic partnership” since 2014. Additionally, the executive program for the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries for the five years (2024-2028) was signed in January 2024, representing a roadmap to develop and elevate bilateral relations based on tangible achievements over the past years. Moreover, the two friendly countries will celebrate next year the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
