English club Manchester City announced its squad for the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League season, featuring Egyptian star Omar Marmoush alongside new signings, confirming the club’s reliance on both its core and new players in the continental competition.
The club’s official website revealed that the list included all the reinforcements made by Manchester City during the summer transfer window, headed by Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, as well as Ryan Ait-Nouri, Marcos Bittencourt, Ryan Cherki, Tijani Reinders, and James Trafford, alongside the continuation of the team’s key players.
Manchester City confirmed the inclusion of Omar Marmoush in the final squad for the tournament, as the Egyptian player continues his journey with the team after joining last winter from German club Eintracht Frankfurt for 75 million euros, making him the most expensive African player in the Premier League so far.
The official squad included 25 players, among them: Ait-Nouri, Nathan Aké, Bittencourt, Oscar Bob, Cherki, Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku, Donnarumma, Phil Foden, Nico, Josko Gvardiol, Erling Haaland, Rodri, Abdelkader Khusanov, Mateo Kovacic, Marmoush, Matheus Nunes, Stefan Ortega, Reinders, Savinho, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Trafford, Rico Lewis, and Nico O’Reilly.
The team is placed in a strong group including eight clubs: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Villarreal, Napoli, Galatasaray, Monaco, and Bodo/Glimt. The top eight teams qualify directly to the round of 16, while those ranked ninth to twenty-fourth face playoff matches.
Manchester City will start its campaign in the tournament on Thursday, September 18, facing Italian club Napoli at the Etihad Stadium at 10 PM Cairo time, in the first round of the group stage.
