After years of waiting and staying away from the stages of her homeland, the Syrian star Asala Nasri is preparing to return to her audience in Syria with a grand concert, her first in about 15 years.
The return carries much longing and nostalgia and is an artistic event eagerly awaited by her fans by the end of 2025.
Anticipated Concert in December
Mazen Al-Natour, head of the Syrian Artists Syndicate, announced that Asala’s concert will be held in December and confirmed that it will be an independent event dedicated solely to her, not part of the Damascus International Fair as recently rumored.
Special Arrangements and Brother’s Visit to the Syndicate
The concert date was revealed after producer Anas Nasri, Asala’s brother, visited the Syrian Artists Syndicate to discuss arrangements.
During the meeting, Nasri requested coordination between the syndicate and relevant authorities to ensure the concert is prepared in a manner befitting Asala’s artistic status.
The syndicate previously stated that Anas Nasri’s visit was to discuss logistical and artistic details related to Asala’s return to Syria, reflecting serious coordination with concerned parties to organize the event suitably.
Asala’s Statements: Conditional Return
In her recent press conference at the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in Jordan, Asala hinted at her intention to return to Damascus but emphasized that this step is conditional on special circumstances that guarantee the success and safety of the concert.
This statement gave the anticipated concert an exceptional dimension, describing it not just as an artistic return but as an event with special symbolism for her Syrian audience.
An Old Promise Fulfilled
Asala had previously promised her audience that she would visit Syria at the earliest opportunity, making this concert her first visit after many years of absence.
Her fans expressed great happiness on social media, wishing her a successful concert worthy of her artistic history.
Arab Successes and a Special Concert in Beirut
This year, Asala performed a series of concerts in several Arab countries, most notably her concert in Beirut after more than 20 years of absence.
During the concert, she performed a musical set lasting more than two hours, including immortal traditional songs such as “Ishtaqna Ktir” by the late Zaki Nassif, “Ana Elli Aleiki Mishtaq” by the late Joseph Sakr composed by Ziad Rahbani.
“Tax of Distance” Album
Asala’s artistic activity coincided with the release of her latest album titled “Tax of Distance,” which achieved great success since its launch on digital platforms.
The main song, which shares the album’s name, topped listening charts and was written by Ahmed Issa, composed by Madian, arranged by Amin Nabil, and mixed and mastered by Maher Salah.
