Al Rayyan Club, currently fifth in the Qatari football league, announced on Wednesday the signing of Brazilian winger Wesley Ribeiro Silva from Internacional.

The club revealed in an official statement on its website the acquisition of the 26-year-old left winger, without disclosing the contract duration or transfer fee.

The statement indicated that the signing aims to strengthen the team’s attacking power, given the player’s speed, skill, and ability to create goals.

Wesley began his career at Palmeiras before moving in winter 2023 to Cruzeiro, then to Internacional at the start of 2024.

Last season, he played 30 matches with his team: 18 in the league, 4 in the Brazil Cup, and 8 in the Copa Libertadores, scoring one goal and providing four assists.

Al Rayyan, runner-up of the 2025 Amir Cup, recently achieved an important 1-0 victory over Al Duhail in the third round of the league, overcoming a previous 2-4 loss to Al Shamal, raising their points to six and ranking fifth.

Led by Portuguese coach Artur Jorge, Al Rayyan hopes to compete for the league title this season after a long absence, with their last championship dating back to the 2015-2016 season.
