Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s transfer to English club Manchester City was finalized after the latter agreed to pay 35 million euros to French club Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports just hours before the summer transfer window closes on Monday evening, based on statements by Italy’s new coach Gennaro Gattuso.

PSG sought to reach a solution with City to relieve the burden of Donnarumma’s salary and avoid losing him for free in a few months.

Donnarumma played a decisive role in PSG’s successful campaign last season, winning the domestic treble of league, cup, and champions trophy, and continental glory by winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, notably in the round of 16 and semi-finals against Liverpool and Arsenal. They also reached the final of the new Club World Cup but lost 0-3 to Chelsea.

Bayern Munich signed Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea on loan with a new clause obliging a purchase worth 65 million euros.

Jackson agreed to a five-year contract with Bayern Munich, and the club confirmed the loan fee of 15 million euros.

Swedish center-back Victor Lindelöf joined English club Aston Villa on a free transfer, according to the latter’s official website.

Aston Villa wrote that “the Swedish national team captain, who has represented his country 71 times, will join the club after leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.”

The versatile defender spent eight seasons at Old Trafford, winning two English cups and the league cup.

The 31-year-old previously played for Portuguese club Benfica after starting his career in the Swedish league.

Aston Villa finished sixth last season in the English Premier League, just behind Newcastle who qualified for the Champions League, but manager Unai Emery’s team will compete in the Europa League.

PSG reached an agreement with English club Tottenham to loan striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to a source close to the negotiations cited by AFP.

The 26-year-old played last season on loan at Juventus and the Italian club sought to sign him permanently. However, no agreement was reached with PSG as the player is undergoing a medical examination in London this afternoon before signing his contract, the source said.

In North London, Muani will compete with Brazilian Richarlison and injured English international Dominic Solanke for a starting spot in the Spurs lineup, who faced several obstacles early in the summer transfer window that closes tonight, failing to sign Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) and Eberechi Eze who chose to sign with their archrival Arsenal coming from another London club Crystal Palace.

British media reported that Manchester United reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Seny Laman from Belgian club Royal Antwerp on a five-year contract for 20.9 million euros plus performance bonuses.

The 23-year-old Belgian is considered a promising talent and could displace the duo of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir from the starting lineup given their current form, becoming the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

United is also linked with signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Manuel Akanji moved on loan from Manchester City to Inter Milan for about two million euros.

The Swiss defender, who no longer has enough playing time under coach Pep Guardiola, will experience a new challenge in Serie A.

36-year-old Chilean Alexis Sanchez arrived at Sevilla to join the team coached by Argentine Matias Almeyda.

Bournemouth signed Spanish full-back Alex Jimenez on loan from Italian club AC Milan, following the departure of several defenders during this transfer window, including Dean Hansen to Real Madrid, Ilia Zabarny to PSG, and Milos Kerkez to Liverpool.

Bournemouth had already strengthened its defense by signing defender Pavard Diakite from Lille for $46.74 million last August.
