The Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, announced the organization of six mini sports championships to conclude the Summer of Sports for All 2025, which was extended for two additional weeks to continue until the 21st of this month. This extension responds to the wishes of parents and the large turnout of children and youth to the program’s activities, aiming to benefit from the diverse sports, entertainment, and awareness events. The summer program started on June 23, offering a variety of sports, entertainment, and awareness activities, attracting participants of all age groups, boys and girls, across several halls, playgrounds, swimming pools in sports clubs, youth centers, and public parks.
The concluding championships are led by the fitness championship held in Al Rayyan Park, and the clubs Al Ahli, Al Arabi, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, and the youth centers Barzan and Al Dhakhira, from August 16 to 28. The competitions include three challenges combining physical strength (throwing a 5 kg iron ball), a 100-meter speed challenge, and an endurance race, culminating in awarding winners with colorful medals and in-kind rewards to encourage continued sports practice. The youth billiards championship runs from August 12 to 14 for ages 12 to 17, followed by youth center football championships on August 16 and 17, then table tennis at Lusail Sports Hall in a knockout system from August 18 to 19, volleyball on August 25, and concluding with the Muay Thai championship.
These championships are part of the “Summer of Sports for All 2025” program, spanning eight weeks over four periods, held in sports halls, clubs, youth centers, and public parks, with participation from 28 entities including ministries, institutions, authorities, and schools. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, said the concluding championships represent an ideal and integrated sports destination, enhancing sports and entertainment aspects, marking a grand finale to a rich summer season with a wonderful schedule that meets all aspirations, showcases talents, and raises skills. He confirmed the summer activities witness increasing daily interaction and emphasized that this qualitative activity aligns with the vision and strategic plans of the Ministry of Sports and Youth to spread the culture of sports practice in society.
