The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation revealed a growing presence of Emirati women in the private sector, with data showing that Emirati women constitute 90% of the total Emirati workforce in health professions, reflecting a strategic reliance on female competencies in medical and health fields, which are key pillars of national development.
Statistics issued by the ministry until the end of last month, as reported by “Al Khaleej,” indicated that Emirati women make up 98% of those working in educational professions in the private sector, confirming the pivotal role women play in preparing future generations and supporting the UAE’s position as a center of knowledge and innovation.
The Largest Proportion
The ministry revealed that the young age group (15-35 years) accounts for the largest share of Emirati women working in the private sector, reaching 97% of the total Emirati women, reflecting the dynamism of the new generation of women entering the labor market with confidence and growing experience.
Regarding leadership positions, women represent 54% of the total Emirati workforce at the first level (legislators, directors, and business managers), with a remarkable growth of 33.8% in the number of Emirati women working in these positions during 2024. This shift is an important step confirming that Emirati female cadres are increasingly present in decision-making positions, both at the executive management and institutional strategy levels.
Statistics also showed that Emirati women constitute 71% of those working at the second and third levels, which include specialists and technicians in scientific, technical, and human fields. This demonstrates the expanding participation of women in high-value specialties requiring high qualifications and practical experience, reflecting the quality of educational outputs and their alignment with labor market requirements.
Skilled Workforce
Emirati women make up 71% of the total skilled workforce, highlighting their qualitative presence in professional work environments and confirming that their role goes beyond numbers to competence and competitiveness. These indicators come within the framework of continuous state support to empower women and provide a stimulating work environment that ensures their progress and development in various economic and social fields.
These statistics reflect the success of government policies aimed at promoting gender balance and ensuring the representation of Emirati women in all vital sectors, in line with the objectives of the national agenda and the “We the UAE 2031” vision. They also highlight that women have become essential partners in building the future, not only in traditional sectors such as health and education but also in leadership, technical, and scientific levels that are the backbone of sustainable development.
