The Egypt U-20 national team, led by Osama Nabih, is preparing for a tough match against New Zealand in the second round of the group stage at the ongoing U-20 World Cup in Chile.

Egypt currently sits at the bottom of Group A after the first round, having lost 2-0 to Japan, while Chile defeated New Zealand 2-1. As a result, Japan leads the group, followed by Chile in second, New Zealand third, and Egypt fourth.

The Egypt vs New Zealand match is scheduled for 11 PM Cairo time on Tuesday. The match is crucial for Egypt to secure a win to get back on track and revive their hopes of advancing after the opening loss to Japan.

Coach Osama Nabih plans to make some changes to the lineup, starting with Mohamed El-Sayed in midfield instead of Salim Taleb, and Moataz Mohamed replacing Seif Safaga in defense.

Egypt’s best achievement in the tournament was finishing third, achieved in their third participation in Argentina 2001 after defeating Paraguay 1-0 with a goal by Mohamed Al-Yamani.

The Egypt squad includes 19 players from 8 local clubs, plus 4 players active in clubs in Germany, England, and Switzerland.
