Walid Salah El-Din, Al Ahly’s football director, expressed his happiness with the 2-1 victory over Zamalek in the Cairo Stadium today, during the ninth round of the Premier League. He confirmed that the team played an excellent match and deserved this valuable win, with all players showing Al Ahly’s character and playing with high spirit.

Salah El-Din congratulated Al Ahly players, fans, and the board of directors on the victory in the derby, adding: “We achieved this win under very difficult circumstances at a time when we desperately needed it. We played a strong match worthy of Egyptian football’s reputation, and there were many missed chances that could have ended the match with more goals.”

He congratulated all players, whether those who played or those absent due to injury, emphasizing that everyone shares in the victory. He added: “Al Ahly is the strongest team in Africa, and the fans always stand behind the team. We trust their support for the players and technical staff as usual in all situations.”

The football director commented on the team’s performance: “During the first 10 minutes, we were not good, but then we dominated possession completely and the match turned in our favor. Even after Zamalek scored their first goal, we were still the better side. One of the traits of great teams is to come back after falling behind despite significant absences. This win will give us a strong boost, and we will reorganize to achieve the desired results and please Al Ahly fans.”

Salah El-Din praised the players, noting that all performed well, including substitutes who made a big difference, especially Hussein El Shahat, who scored the equalizer and earned the penalty that led to the winning goal, deserving the Man of the Match award.

He confirmed that there are many false rumors circulating, such as Zizo being in the team’s camp and requesting to play, which never happened. He urged Al Ahly fans not to pay attention to such rumors.
