A high-level delegation from Dubai Charity Association successfully concluded a two-week field mission in West Africa, covering three countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, and Ghana. The mission focused on direct and detailed evaluation of developmental and humanitarian projects funded by donors and goodwill ambassadors.
The visit was part of the association’s commitment to transparency and accountability, ensuring that donors’ contributions reach the rightful beneficiaries and achieve the highest levels of efficiency and sustainable impact.
The delegation included Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association; Mahmoud Sahlabji, Director of Resource Development; Wissam Areibi, Head of External Entities Department; and Engineer Ahmed Al Tayyeb from the Project Management Department.
During the visit, the delegation met with trusted local partners, as well as UAE embassies and consulates in those countries, to discuss work mechanisms and develop cooperation to ensure project sustainability and adherence to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. They also listened to beneficiaries’ feedback and suggestions to provide basic life necessities such as education, health, and shelter.
Ahmed Al Suwaidi said, “The visit is part of the association’s strategy to closely monitor its external projects and ensure they achieve their intended goals of creating positive and sustainable change in the lives of thousands. Our field inspection confirms that the generous donors’ contributions are the driving force behind the positive change we strive to achieve worldwide, and we pledge to continue expanding our charitable and humanitarian work in Africa and other needy regions.”
He added, “The evaluation results are a source of pride, as we witnessed firsthand the profound impact of donors’ contributions on the ground. We saw how mosques, Quran memorization centers, and schools built have become beacons of worship and education for future generations, how the dug water wells have ended the suffering of thousands from water scarcity, and how orphanages provide comprehensive care for children.”
He continued, “Our detailed reports from the tour will be the cornerstone for developing our future plans, ensuring a shift from seasonal relief aid to economic empowerment and sustainable development projects that enable individuals and families to become self-reliant. We assure every generous donor that their trust is managed with the utmost precision and contributes effectively to embodying the UAE’s civilizational and humanitarian message globally.”
