On Friday evening, the city of Sharm El-Sheikh witnessed a traffic accident that resulted in the death of three members of the Qatari delegation involved in the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations on Gaza, and injured two others.

Al Arabiya’s correspondent in Egypt reported on Saturday that the Qatari delegation was involved in a car accident near the conference center in Sharm El-Sheikh.

According to Egyptian security sources, the accident occurred while members of the Qatari delegation were moving from their residence to one of the official meeting venues, when the vehicle carrying them collided with another car on one of the main roads leading to the international conference area in Sharm El-Sheikh, according to local media.

The injured were immediately transferred to Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital to receive necessary medical care, while Egyptian authorities began investigations to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.

The sources also clarified that the Qatari delegation was participating in ongoing diplomatic efforts to discuss the latest developments in the negotiations sponsored by Cairo, with participation from delegations of several regional and international countries.
