Palestinian Justice Minister Sharhabil Al-Za’im announced the naming of “Egypt” for the largest square in Gaza after its reconstruction, and “Qatar” for another square, in recognition of the Egyptian and Qatari efforts that led to stopping the genocide.

In statements to “Cairo News,” he praised President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s role in halting the “displacement” plan that was intended against the Palestinian people, affirming that this will remain etched in Palestinian memory for generations.

Responding to extremist Israeli Minister of Security Itamar Ben-Gvir’s condemnation of the release of Palestinian prisoners and the ceasefire agreement, he said, “I believe the response will come from his government to dismiss his words,” noting that “there are international commitments made before President Trump that Israel cannot abandon,” despite its known history of “evading and escaping” from implementing agreements.

He pointed out the Palestinian Authority’s readiness to take over the management of the Gaza Strip within less than “three days” of the request, noting that a “day-after plan” has been prepared over more than a year under the instructions of the Palestinian leadership, stressing that all matters are linked to negotiations in Egypt.

He indicated that the Ministry of Justice has a plan to reactivate the justice sector in Gaza, starting with imposing emergency laws in the first phase, then applying transitional justice principles and rebuilding the justice system properly, confirming that all ministries are ready to take over authority.

He expressed optimism about the release of Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Saadat “in the near future” despite Israeli opposition in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.

He confirmed that the Ministry of Justice and civil society institutions have documented and monitored “all violations of international law and war crimes” committed, stressing that these files are “documented, prepared, and awaiting political decision” to present them before international courts to prosecute Israeli war criminals.
