Syrian Minister of Transport, Yaarub Badr, met with the Governor of Rif Dimashq, Amer Al-Sheikh, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways of cooperation between the ministry and the governorate to develop the transport sector and improve the road infrastructure in the governorate.
During a meeting held today at the ministry building in Damascus, Minister Badr emphasized the importance of adhering to technical conditions related to traffic safety, stressing the need to provide a safe and suitable traffic environment for all road users.
In turn, the Governor of Rif Dimashq reviewed the possibility of cooperation in improving and beautifying roads and coordinating efforts to study and organize projects, expressing hope to secure the necessary funding to implement these projects, which would raise the level of traffic services and enhance road safety.
The meeting also discussed practical steps and joint coordination between the ministry and the governorate to develop executive plans that meet the needs of the governorate and support sustainable and effective transport movement.
This meeting comes within the framework of the Syrian government’s efforts to improve the transport reality and infrastructure in the governorates, especially in Rif Dimashq, which witnesses increasing traffic movement and pressure on main roads. Government plans focus on developing and rehabilitating roads to ensure user safety and enhance transport efficiency, aiming to support local development and facilitate the movement of citizens and goods sustainably.
