A series of remarkable successes and championships were achieved by the youth and girls of Luxor at the national level in various sports forums under the patronage of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports. The players of Arment Sports Club participating in the national Kung Fu championship held at the covered hall in Qena Governorate under the Egyptian Kung Fu Federation won first place nationally with 18 gold and 3 silver medals.

Continuing the achievements of Luxor’s youth, the player Basant Abdelhadi won the title of best player in the national women’s wrestling championship in the 29 kg under-15 category. Four players from the governorate won first place and two took second place in the championship, led by technical director Captain Youssef Mohamed Atito and coach Captain Ghada Mujahid Ahmed.

The juniors of Luxor governorate also secured 8 advanced positions in the national wrestling championship (summer festival for juniors), with participation from the national talent project and the Olympic champion in the governorate. The winners included Ahmed Osama Zaki (first place, freestyle wrestling), Mohamed Youssef (second place, Greco-Roman wrestling), Omar Eid Attallah (second place, freestyle wrestling), Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Moaz (second place, freestyle wrestling), Amr Mostafa (third place, freestyle wrestling), Farag Mostafa Farag (third place, freestyle wrestling), Yassin Ahmed Salah (fourth place, freestyle wrestling), and Osama Al-Kalawati Mohamed (fourth place, freestyle wrestling).

Meanwhile, the youth team of Shabab Moslems Arment Club won first place nationally in the small clubs and popular neighborhoods league in Alexandria in five-a-side football. The league competitions were held in popular squares, small clubs, and open fields, divided into two age groups: 15 to 20 years and 21 to 35 years.

Physical measurements were conducted for all participating teams, and financial rewards were given to the best participant in each governorate. The final matches, attended by Salah Rashwan, Director General of Youth and Sports in Luxor, witnessed strong competition, with Luxor team winning first place after defeating Alexandria governorate.

Financial prizes for the two age groups were as follows: first place: 15,000 EGP and championship cup; second place: 10,000 EGP and second place cup; third place: 8,000 EGP and commemorative shield. This was under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abdelwahab, Deputy Director for Sports, Salah Ezz, Director of Sports Department, and the department’s team.

Salah Rashwan, Director General of Youth and Sports Directorate in Luxor, stated that the directorate implemented a series of sports, cultural, and service activities supporting youth and continuing their championships, benefiting a total of 3,700 young men and women. Key activities included the fitness project champions of Luxor governorate achieving eighth place nationally in the fitness show championship of the national fitness project for Egypt’s governorates, held at Al-Qarsh camp in Ismailia with participation of 3,000 youths representing 27 governorates.

The Parliament and Civic Education Department also conducted an awareness campaign to increase participation awareness in parliamentary electoral entitlements (Senate and House of Representatives), as part of the second phase of the “Participate the Word.. Your Word” initiative. The second meeting was held at Esna Youth Center with participation of youth parliament members, senators, and eligible voters. The meeting featured wide interactive discussions on enhancing political awareness among youth and citizens about the importance of active participation in parliamentary elections and strengthening political participation.

Engineer Abdel-Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, received a delegation from the “Bishabha” Union accompanied by Sheikh Ali Sadiq, Deputy Minister of Endowments in the governorate, and Dr. Mohamed Atiya, coordinator of the “Our Mosques are Life” initiative. The union officials presented the initiative and its goals, which aim to transform mosques into integrated community development centers operating from dawn to night prayers, contributing to strengthening the mosque’s role in building a cultural, religious, and scientific society and instilling values and principles to build the new human.

The eleventh edition of the Youth Centers League continued in Luxor governorate, with matches held according to schedules on the fields of Al-Toud Youth Centers under the supervision of match monitors from the General Directorate of Youth Development. Matches included Al-Huseinat Youth Center vs. Al-Muhaydat Youth Center ending 6-1 for Al-Huseinat; Luxor Youth Center vs. Al-Razikat Youth Center ending 2-0 for Luxor; Arment Youth Center vs. Al-Fatatih Youth Center ending 1-0 for Arment; and Al-Toud Youth Center vs. Al-Bahr bil-Farsiya Youth Center ending 1-0 for Al-Toud.

Dr. Hossam Al-Qadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Will and Challenge Club in Luxor, announced adding a new achievement to the club’s championships with the efforts of its champions. The club participated in the national athletics championship for motor disabilities held at City Club fields in Kafr El-Sheikh, organized by the Paralympic Committee. The champions won medals including Mustafa Mahmoud Sultan, the youngest player, who won gold in the 200m sprint; Shazly Hamed Amin won bronze in long jump; Ibrahim Al-Saadi Mohamed won two bronze medals in long jump and javelin; Mohamed Gamal Qadri won bronze in javelin; and Ramadan Mohamed Makawi won bronze in discus throw.
