Israeli report: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at least dislikes Netanyahu; his exclusion from the invitation is intentional.

On her X account, Lior Son Har-Melkh, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset (member of the Otzma Yehudit party – Jewish Power), wrote: “Trump presented the current agreement as a peace deal – but this is not a peace deal, it is a disgraceful agreement. What is most missing is peace and security.”

Har-Melkh continued: “Israel’s security has taken a severe hit by signing it. We already see Hamas reorganizing inside Gaza, preparing to retake control of the sector once our forces withdraw.”

She added: “I do not want to join the applause. No to the American president who sells the people of Israel the illusion of peace and security, and no to the right wing that glorifies this agreement as if it were an achievement.”

Har-Melkh thus joins Knesset member Amichai Haliva (from Likud), who confirmed he will not participate (Monday) in the special Knesset session where the US president is scheduled to deliver his speech, seeing the agreement as “the opposite of victory in the war.” Haliva added: “Even those who believe we were forced to sign it should not celebrate it.”

Likewise, Noam party leader Avi Maoz announced he will also boycott Trump’s speech in the Knesset. He wrote on his X account: “I will not participate tomorrow as an ‘extra’ in the ‘celebratory’ show in the Knesset hall.”

Trump is expected to deliver his speech in the Knesset hall at 11:00, and from there likely head directly to Ben Gurion Airport to depart immediately to Egypt, where he will chair a historic summit (Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit) alongside President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Leaders of more than twenty countries and organizations will participate to discuss the aftermath in Gaza and the peace agreement. Israel was not invited to this event, which will witness a symbolic signing of the war-ending agreement.
