Applications for the 2026 Hajj lottery will begin on Sunday, October 12, 2025, and continue until Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Applications can be submitted at all police centers and departments nationwide, through the General Administration of Administrative Affairs’ website via the Ministry of Interior portal, or by calling the dedicated voice service for receiving applications.

An open lottery will be conducted to select winners in each security directorate through the unified Egyptian Hajj portal, according to a schedule to be determined later by the General Administration of Administrative Affairs.

The Ministry congratulated citizens on the upcoming Hajj season and urged applicants to adhere to the conditions and regulations governing the process. It clarified that applications must be submitted in person regardless of residence through police centers, online, or via the voice service, provided the national ID card is valid; expired IDs will lead to rejection.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized the necessity of choosing only one method to apply for Hajj, whether through the lottery, tourism, or solidarity. Multiple applications or withdrawals after the application deadline are not allowed. Applicants and companions must not have performed Hajj previously in their lifetime and must provide an official declaration to that effect.

The Ministry stressed the importance of pilgrims adhering to health instructions issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Saudi authorities. Travel is prohibited for those with chronic and serious diseases such as kidney failure, pulmonary fibrosis, advanced heart and liver diseases, Alzheimer’s, active cancer, or infectious diseases, as well as pregnant women in late stages or high-risk pregnancies.

Completion of required vaccinations is also mandatory, especially the meningococcal vaccine with a quadrivalent dose administered at least 10 days and no more than 5 years before travel, or any other vaccinations that may be specified later.

The Ministry confirmed that applying electronically or via the voice service constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of all conditions. The applicant bears full responsibility for the accuracy of the data, and any errors or violations of regulations will result in exclusion without liability on the Ministry.

It clarified that transferring the Hajj opportunity to others is not allowed under any circumstances, except for children transferring to one parent, provided all health and organizational conditions are met and required documents are submitted on time. Withdrawal after the deadline will automatically cancel the application.

The Ministry also stressed the importance of adhering to the travel dates specified on the pilgrim’s ticket, noting it is not responsible for any delays or violations of transport schedules. Applications are only accepted after payment of fees within the specified period.

The Ministry of Interior concluded by emphasizing that the aim of organizing procedures is to maintain the security and safety of pilgrims and ensure the performance of rituals according to precise health and organizational controls in line with the requirements of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Saudi authorities.
