Saleh Amer Al-Jaafrawi was a Palestinian journalist and photographer, active on social media platforms, known for documenting the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
He was born on November 22, 1998, in the Gaza Strip and became famous for his humanitarian documentation of the war events in Gaza, becoming one of the most prominent field voices conveying the civilians’ suffering to the world.
He had over three million followers on Instagram, in addition to followers on X and YouTube, and became a key source for understanding the reality of Gaza.
Al-Jaafrawi was one of the most prominent media figures during the Israeli extermination war on Gaza, documenting the occupation’s crimes against civilians for two years through his lens.
Due to his coverage of the extermination and starvation war, Israel placed Al-Jaafrawi on the “red list” in preparation for targeting him, as it did with many journalists in Gaza.
He was martyred on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.
