American network NBC announced that the famous rapper Snoop Dogg will return to join its broadcast team to cover the Milan/Cortina Winter Games next year, following his successful and award-winning appearances at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Winter Games are scheduled to take place in northern Italy from February 6 to 22.

NBC stated that, as he did in Paris, Snoop Dogg will “explore the region’s famous cultural landmarks, attend Olympic competitions, cheer on athletes and their friends and families,” and share his fun experience with the prime-time audience.

The contract with Snoop, who won two Emmy Awards in sports and was described by The New York Times as “the new people’s voice for NBC,” aims to boost viewership ratings, which he already succeeded in during the Summer Games with his distinctive presence.

In a statement, Snoop Dogg said, “I’ll be bringing padded jackets, snow pants, goggles, skis (and of course, I’ll be looking sharp).”

He added, “I look forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. The Olympics are the biggest stage in the world, and as everyone knows, I love sports, bringing people together, uniting them with a touch of fun.”

Executive producer Molly Solomon expressed her excitement about his return, saying: “Our ambassador of happiness is back! We can’t wait to see how the young man from Long Beach will handle the snow and ice in Italy during his very first Winter Games.”

Solomon praised his role in Paris, where he “trained with athletes, anxiously watched alongside their families, and cheered their performances,” noting that he connected with viewers in a way the network had never seen before, and now he is ready to return as the most enthusiastic supporter of Team USA.

Notably, at Paris, Snoop Dogg carried the Olympic torch, danced with gymnastics star Simone Biles, took fencing lessons, and attended the equestrian event in full attire, among many widely shared activities.
