The Ghana national football team qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals after defeating the Comoros national team 1-0 yesterday (Sunday) in the final round of Group 9 in the African qualifiers for the World Cup.
From a cross by Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus scored Ghana’s only goal (47th minute).
With this result, Ghana achieved their eighth win and reached 25 points, leading Group 10 teams, while Comoros suffered their fifth loss and remained at 15 points in fourth place.
This marks Ghana’s fifth World Cup qualification (second consecutive) after the years 2006, 2010 (reached quarter-finals), 2014, and 2022. Ghana joins four other African teams that have already secured their spots in the tournament: Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt.
