Protests have erupted in several areas across Israel, initiated by families of detainees in the Gaza Strip, to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to stop the war and release their relatives. Protesters and families of detainees blocked several roads and intersections, especially in Tel Aviv. Participants set fire to car tires to block roads, holding pictures of the detainees and banners demanding an end to the war. They asserted that the Israeli government could have ended the war a year ago and returned all detainees and soldiers, accusing the Prime Minister of repeatedly choosing to sacrifice civilians for his rule and interests.
