Some users of smartwatches running Wear OS are facing a sudden problem with the Google Clock app. Many users have reported that the app disappeared from their watches, and when trying to reinstall it from the Google Play Store, a message appears stating it is “incompatible” with their devices. Interestingly, this issue does not affect their smartphones or Pixel Watch devices, indicating the problem is limited to the Wear OS version of the app.
So far, no solution has been found. Attempts to manually install the app via APK files have failed, as have other proposed fixes. Although Google has not officially commented, increasing complaints on support pages suggest the company is aware of the issue. Some users speculate that Google might restrict the app to Pixel watches only, though this seems unlikely given the company’s past policies.
This bug is classified as a software glitch, which is inevitable in technology. However, the problem is particularly frustrating as it affects a core function of smartwatches. Users hope Google will act quickly to fix the bug and restore normal app functionality on affected watches.
