The journal Food & Function, which published the study results, indicated that regular consumption of green tea reduces fat accumulation in the liver, improves fat metabolism in the body, and restores gut microbiota balance.

During experiments, researchers subjected mice to a diet including daily doses of green tea. The results showed that regular green tea consumption:

    • Reduces fat buildup in the liver.
    • Improves fat metabolism.
    • Restores gut microbiota balance.

Scientists also discovered that green tea lowers the levels of Firmicutes bacteria in the body, which are often elevated in people with obesity and metabolic disorders.

The researchers confirmed that drinking one cup of traditionally prepared green tea daily could be a simple and safe way to prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and related metabolic disorders.

It is worth mentioning that scientists from Sichuan University in China recently announced the development of edible micro-pellets made from green tea and seaweed, noting that these supplements help burn fat and improve intestinal function.
