There is doubt surrounding the participation of international midfielder Dani Olmo with his team Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga “Clasico” match against Real Madrid, following the diagnosis of an injury to his calf.

Barcelona stated, “Olmo suffers from a muscle injury in his left calf without damage to the connective tissue.”

Barcelona did not specify the recovery time needed for the 27-year-old, but Spanish media reported he might need about two weeks, meaning his participation against Real Madrid in the match scheduled at the Royal Club’s stadium on the 26th of this month is uncertain.

Olmo had to withdraw from the Spanish national team camp last week due to this injury, before his Catalan club teammate Ferran Torres also suffered a muscle injury on Monday, preventing him from participating today in the match against Bulgaria in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
