Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population revealed that “Egypt Children’s Hospital,” affiliated with the General Authority for Health Insurance, receives about 4,000 hemophilia cases and 2,500 blood disease patients monthly.

The ministry stated that Dr. Mohamed El-Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, inspected the hospital to review efficiency improvements, expansion of new departments, and to ensure the quality of medical services provided to patients.

Dr. Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, the ministry’s official spokesperson, said the tour began with a visit to the neonatal intensive care unit, which includes 20 incubators. The deputy minister checked on patients and medical staff, directing the provision of necessary training and the removal of any obstacles, emphasizing adherence to working hours.

The deputy minister also visited the hematology department and the hemophilia center, which receive 2,500 blood disease patients and 4,000 hemophilia patients monthly. He spoke with patients’ families to ensure their satisfaction with the services and followed up on the new intensive care unit operations that include 16 beds, including 3 pediatric surgery beds and an isolation bed, alongside the cardiac catheterization unit that receives 50 patients monthly and the catheter care unit with 9 beds.

The spokesperson added that the deputy minister ordered accelerating digital transformation to ensure data accuracy and integrity, in addition to inspecting the laboratory to verify equipment efficiency and technician training, as well as checking the radiology and CT scan departments.
