Marseille club has temporarily suspended its players Adrien Rabiot and English teammate Jonathan Roux following a heated argument between them after the team’s loss to Rennes on Friday in the opening of the French football league, according to a source familiar with the incident who confirmed information from RMC Sport network. The club’s management decided on this to preserve the club’s image, effective immediately, meaning the players will not participate in Monday’s training sessions. The duration of the suspension has not yet been determined, and it is unclear if Rabiot and Roux will be able to participate in the upcoming match against Paris FC on Saturday as part of the second round of the local league. Marseille lost 0-1 to Rennes in their opening match, and the dressing room witnessed significant tension after the game, with voices raised considerably.
Several key players spoke sharply, and a fierce fight broke out between Rabiot and Roux. Another source told AFP: ‘They were on the verge of physical confrontation,’ forcing some teammates and staff members to intervene and separate them.
