Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel-Moaty, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, confirmed that the construction works of the new Sakha Bridge in Kafr El-Sheikh city are underway, with a length of 630 meters and a total cost of 366 million Egyptian pounds, under the supervision of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges. This is part of the state’s plan to develop the road and bridge network and improve traffic flow within cities.
The governor expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, for his continuous support of infrastructure development projects in the governorate. He emphasized that the project represents a vital traffic axis serving heavy transport movement outside the city by linking the governorate’s capital axes to the free road (Tanta – Kafr El-Sheikh), contributing to reducing traffic congestion inside the city and achieving smooth traffic flow as part of development projects.
The governor explained that the bridge consists of 6 traffic lanes in both directions with a total width of 20 meters, connecting the west of Kafr El-Sheikh city towards Mahallet Mousa and the east of the city above the railway level crossing. This contributes to achieving significant traffic fluidity in the area, facilitating the movement of citizens and vehicles, and enhancing safety factors on the road in those areas.
The governor stressed the necessity of adhering to the highest standards of quality and structural safety in execution, with daily monitoring of performance rates according to the specified schedule to ensure rapid completion and maximize the project’s benefit in serving citizens and transportation movement within the governorate.
