Engineer Abdelmuttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, conducted an inspection tour on Monday evening in the center and city of Al-Toud to follow up on the social housing project consisting of 30 residential buildings with 600 units, scheduled for imminent delivery to the beneficiaries who contracted since 2008. The first phase includes buildings 21 to 25. During the tour, the governor inspected several apartments and personally tested the utilities including water and electricity. He directed the Roads Directorate to level and pave the road leading to the buildings from the International Youth Hostel to the project entrance, including paving and installing interlocking tiles at entrances. The governor emphasized maintaining general cleanliness, removing waste around the project, constructing sidewalks connecting the buildings to the main road, planting trees and landscaping in front of the buildings and the central median, and instructed the Electricity Department to light all poles.

At the end of the tour, he ordered the rapid offering of about 16 shops in the adjacent popular market to serve the residents. The governor was accompanied by several officials including the head of Al-Toud center, housing and utilities directors, and heads of electricity and sanitation departments. Separately, the governor held a meeting to discuss requests from the residents of Al-Madamoud village in Al-Zeinia center. Attendees included local officials and education and utilities directors. The meeting approved converting Obeid Ali preparatory school into a basic education school by expanding and maintaining the current building and constructing a new one to reach 22 classrooms, ready for the 2026/2027 academic year. The meeting also discussed including Al-Bani road in the current fiscal year’s paving plan after completing electrical pole installations and widening the road as requested by residents.

The governor stressed completing sanitation projects on schedule and instructed the electricity projects director to inspect Al-Bani road for lighting feasibility. He affirmed the state’s commitment to responding to citizens’ demands and providing essential services, highlighting education as a priority and infrastructure projects as key to improving living standards and supporting sustainable development. He praised the cooperation of Al-Madamoud residents and their active participation in supporting their village’s needs.
