Ma’an Governorate Council hosted former Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Raouf Al-Rawabdeh on Saturday in a meeting titled “Jordanian National Identity: Firm Constants in the Face of Challenges,” attended by Ma’an Governor Khaled Al-Hajjaj and Council Chairwoman Aida Al-Khatab. During the meeting, Al-Rawabdeh emphasized the importance of consolidating a unifying national identity as a pivotal pillar in protecting the state’s journey and enhancing social cohesion, highlighting its role in confronting political, economic, and social challenges. He explained that national identity reflects societies, embodies the spirit of belonging and shared identity, and is closely linked to the history, present, and future of societies, making it a fundamental pillar in building a cohesive and interconnected community.
He reviewed Jordan’s steadfast positions under the leadership of King Abdullah II in supporting the Palestinian cause and aiding the brothers in Gaza, affirming that Jordan will remain a defender of the Palestinian people’s rights in various forums.
