A large number of intellectuals and media figures gathered to offer condolences for the great writer Sonallah Ibrahim at Omar Makram Mosque in Tahrir Square. The condolence ceremony was attended by notable figures including director Khaled Youssef, journalist Khaled El-Balshi, head of the Cultural Committee Mahmoud Kamel, writer Iman Ouf, novelist Ezzat El-Qamhawi, and theater director Ahmed Ismail among others. Sonallah Ibrahim is considered one of the most prominent Egyptian and Arab novelists, known for his bold intellectual stances and distinctive creativity. His works documented political and social transformations in Egypt and the Arab world, including novels such as “The Committee,” “Honor,” and “Rose,” which have been translated into several languages.
