The Alexandria Library, through the Sadat Museum under the Cultural Communication Sector, is organizing the museum’s annual competition on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the glorious October victories. The event will take place on Monday, October 6, from 1 PM to 3 PM in the museum hall.

The Alexandria Library stated in a press release that the activities include a comprehensive guided tour inside the museum, highlighting the most prominent rare possessions and documents of the late President Anwar Sadat, followed by the competition in which visitors participate, and then an award ceremony for the winners and participants.

In celebration of this national occasion, the Alexandria Library will open its doors to the public on Thursday, October 9, the official holiday declared by the state in honor of the October victories, from 10 AM to 2 PM, allowing visitors to view the museum’s collections and engage with its activities.

The late President Anwar Sadat Museum was inaugurated in February 2009 and houses a rare collection of possessions donated by Mrs. Jehan Sadat to commemorate her husband. These possessions include medals and decorations, press and historical photos, old newspapers, personal clothing, handwritten papers, recordings of his voice reciting the Quran, in addition to the suit he wore on the day of his assassination during the military parade in 1981, his personal passport, alongside many other distinctive items.

These activities come as part of the Alexandria Library’s keenness to enhance national and historical awareness among new generations.
