The fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League 2025-2026 season kicks off today, Sunday, featuring intense clashes between teams amid fierce competition among the top clubs to continue their winning streaks, while other teams aim to improve their standings. Ceramica returns after resting in the previous round.

Today, Sunday, August 31, four matches will take place as part of the fifth round:

    • Al Masry SC meets Kahrabaa Ismailia at 6 PM.
    • Modern Sport faces Haras El Hodoud also at 6 PM.
    • Wadi Degla hosts Zamalek at 9 PM.
    • Smouha meets Petrojet at 9 PM.

ON Sport channel will broadcast the Egyptian Premier League matches this season, with an analytical studio featuring several Egyptian football stars to analyze the technical performance and refereeing decisions.

The Professional Clubs Association announced a change in match timings to 6 PM and 9 PM instead of 5 PM and 8 PM, responding to clubs’ requests and to ensure the safety of players and fans amid the high temperatures in August.

The new 2025-2026 season starts with an exceptional system including 21 teams after the cancellation of relegation last season. Three teams were promoted from the second division to join the top clubs. Participating teams are: Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids, Ismaily, Al Masry, Al Ittihad, Ceramica, El Gouna, National Bank, Modern Sport, Enppi, Tala’ea El Gaish, ZED, Pharco, Smouha, Ghazl El Mahalla, Haras El Hodoud, Petrojet, Al Mokawloon Al Arab, Wadi Degla, and Kahrabaa Ismailia.

Al Ahly managed to maintain its lead and win the Egyptian Premier League title for 2024-2025 after a fierce competition with Pyramids until the last round, clinching the title by only two points.
