The Egypt national team is preparing to play against Ethiopia and Burkina Faso on the upcoming Friday and Tuesday in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for the African continent.

Hossam Hassan, along with the stars of the “Pharaohs” team, wanted to honor Mohamed Salah just days after he received the Premier League Player of the Season award from the Professional Footballers’ Association for his outstanding performance in the 2024/2025 season, where he was the top scorer and best playmaker in the competition that Liverpool won for the 20th time in its history.

The official website of the Egyptian Football Association published a series of photos of the guard of honor for Mohamed Salah, stating: “The best has arrived, so celebration is a must.”

The Egyptian Football Association explained in its comment: “A guard of honor from the Egypt national team to captain Mohamed Salah after he was crowned Premier League Player of the Season 2024-2025.”

It is worth noting that the Egypt national team leads Group A in the African World Cup qualifiers with 16 points, 5 points ahead of Burkina Faso, its closest competitor, with 4 rounds remaining in the qualifiers.

The group leader qualifies directly to the 2026 World Cup finals.
