German Jürgen Klopp confirmed that he does not wish to return to coaching, stating that he does not miss anything about his life as a coach since leaving Liverpool in 2024. He also expressed happiness with his current position, as he can now set his own holidays and is no longer bound by league schedules.

Klopp, who left Liverpool at the end of the season before last after leading the club for nine years, won the Champions League and the English Premier League with them. He previously coached Mainz and Borussia Dortmund and now serves as the Global Head of Football Operations at Red Bull.

In an interview with The Athletic, Klopp said he knew he would return to work after leaving Liverpool, but he also knew he no longer wanted to work as a coach.

He added: “I didn’t even know when Liverpool’s matches would start, I was simply out of football, exercising, enjoying life, spending time with grandchildren, completely normal things. I knew then I would work again, but I also knew I didn’t want to coach anymore.”

Klopp continued: “I am now 58 years old. If I return to coaching at 65, everyone will say: Didn’t you say you wouldn’t do it again? Sorry, I was 100% sure then. That’s what I believe now. I don’t miss anything.”

Klopp explained that the nature of his new job gives him the flexibility to set his own vacation times “instead of having them set by the English Premier League or the German Bundesliga,” considering the new role logical given his reputation as a project founder within clubs.
