Abu Bakr Al-Asadi, a member of Hamas’s political leadership, congratulated the Palestinian people on reaching an agreement to end the war on Gaza, sending a “salute of reverence and respect” to the Palestinian people “patient, steadfast, and enduring who bore all the crimes of the occupation openly and live on air.”

He added in a televised statement with journalist Sherif Amer on the program “Happening in Egypt” aired on “MBC Egypt” on Thursday evening, that the Palestinian people in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank, with their steadfastness and deep roots in their land, “are the ones who achieved and made this victory,” backed by “their brave resistance that managed to stand firm and never raised the white flag” in front of the occupier.

He explained that “stopping the massacre, genocide, and thwarting the Zionist project” aimed at ending the Palestinian cause and displacing the people from Gaza was the sole goal of the Palestinian people of all factions.

He called for national unity saying: “We must unite and rebuild the Palestinian house,” stressing that facing the challenges shaking the Palestinian cause will only be possible through unity.

He concluded: “With resistance and national unity, we can confront all conspiracies,” emphasizing that Hamas believes in the unity of the Palestinian stance, the unity of Palestine, and the reorganization of the Palestinian house.

Hamas and the Israeli occupation agreed on a ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which includes the first phase releasing all prisoners, withdrawal of occupation forces from Gaza to an agreed line, and releasing some Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Trump also announced the formation of a “Peace Council” to maintain peace in the region.
