The Kafr El-Sheikh branch of the National Council for Women conducted 50 awareness sessions in cooperation with the Kafr El-Sheikh Directorate of Endowments. These sessions targeted 2,800 women and men across several villages and centers in the governorate through direct discussions aimed at raising community awareness and promoting correct concepts regarding important issues affecting families and society.

The council also organized two courses in the villages of Al-Mansha Al-Sughra and Blenkoma in Qelin center, targeting 50 women and girls interested in developing their small projects or starting new ones to improve their income and achieve economic independence.

This was under the patronage of Counselor Amal Ammar, Chairperson of the National Council for Women, and supervised by Dr. Amani Shaker, Coordinator of the Council’s branch in Kafr El-Sheikh, as part of the implementation of the national project for developing the Egyptian family.

Dr. Amani Shaker confirmed that the awareness sessions addressed the dangers of early marriage and its negative effects on girls and society, various forms of violence and the importance of confronting it, the risks of female genital mutilation and the necessity to eliminate this harmful practice, as well as population growth and its direct impact on development and quality of life.

Shaker added that the training also covered diverse topics including entrepreneurship concepts, how to generate entrepreneurial ideas, preparing business plans, basics of marketing and financial management for projects, and available support and financing mechanisms for small projects.

Dr. Amani Shaker emphasized that the National Council for Women works to reach target groups in the heart of rural communities, in cooperation with concerned authorities, foremost among them the Ministry of Endowments, to spread awareness and empower the Egyptian family to confront social and cultural challenges it faces.
