The current traffic law specifies 14 cases in which vehicle licenses can be revoked while driving on roads. Traffic officers have the authority to revoke driving licenses according to Article 72 bis of the law.

Cases for license revocation include: vehicles caught without plates or with plates not issued to them, driving before reporting changes or completing technical inspection, failure to report ownership transfer within 30 days, violating conditions of commercial or temporary licenses, operating taxis without an approved meter, failure to pay taxes and fees for slow transport vehicles for more than three years, among other violations specified in the law.

Other cases include repeated violations by taxis operating outside their licensed governorate without permission, failure to notify change of permanent residence, using the vehicle for purposes other than those stated on the license, repeated violations of conduct inside the vehicle, with exceptions for owners acting in good faith.
