Today marks the anniversary of the death of the great artist Nour El Sherif, who has a rich artistic history and a long-standing relationship with football. Nour El Sherif was a player in the Zamalek youth football team in the 1961 season before focusing on his acting talent. In a rare audio recording from the 1980s, he said, “If I had continued playing for Zamalek, my career would have been short.” His love for Zamalek remained unchanged even after gaining fame as an actor. One of his notable roles was “Shehata Abu Kaf,” a professional Zamalek player in the film “Stranger in My House,” which earned him wide acclaim. Nour El Sherif starred in many important films and TV series that left a mark on Egyptian cinema and television.
