Today marks the centenary of the late Egyptian visual artist Jazebeya Serry, born on October 11, 1925. She left a significant mark in the art world, establishing herself as a distinguished and creative artist, recognized as one of the pioneering figures in Egyptian and Arab fine arts.
In 2024, Bonhams auction house held a “Middle Eastern Art” auction featuring many Egyptian and Arab artworks. Among the artists whose works were sold was the painting “Flower Vase” by the pioneering artist Jazebeya Serry, which sold for £17,920.
In 2023, Sotheby’s auction house in London presented a Middle Eastern Art auction featuring many Arab paintings, including an untitled work by the late Egyptian artist Jazebeya Serry, estimated between £8,000 and £12,000.
In 2021, Bonhams auction house in London sold the painting “The Village” by Jazebeya Serry for $57,074.
Also in 2021, Sotheby’s auction house presented several artworks, including the painting “The Innocents,” estimated between £12,000 and £18,000.
