Flick has never tasted defeat in Madrid, as none of the capital’s teams have managed to beat Barcelona on their home grounds.

Last season, under Flick’s leadership, Barcelona played 6 matches at Madrid teams’ stadiums across all competitions, remaining unbeaten. They won 5 of these matches and drew only one, with these games taking place in La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo,” Flick has never lost in Madrid. All the capital’s teams—Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Leganés, and Getafe—have failed to defeat Barcelona on their home grounds, although some managed to beat the Blaugrana at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium.

“In Madrid, there are Flick’s favorite stadiums,” the report added.

Rayo Vallecano was the first opponent Barcelona faced in the 2024-2025 season at the Vallecas Stadium, where the Catalan team overturned a 0-1 deficit to win 2-1.

Next came the traditional rival Real Madrid, who suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat against Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the 11th round of La Liga. Then Barcelona drew 1-1 away at Getafe in the first round of the second half of La Liga, before securing two consecutive wins against Atlético Madrid in the league and Copa del Rey.

Finally, Barcelona avenged their 0-1 loss to Leganés at Montjuïc by winning the return leg in Madrid by the same score.

Below are Barcelona’s away results against Madrid-based teams since Flick’s arrival (2024-2025 season): Rayo Vallecano 1-2 Barcelona (La Liga Round 3), Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona (La Liga Round 11), Getafe 1-1 Barcelona (La Liga Round 20), Atlético Madrid 2-4 Barcelona (La Liga Round 28), Atlético Madrid 0-1 Barcelona (Copa del Rey semi-final second leg), Leganés 0-1 Barcelona (La Liga Round 31).
