Flydubai announced yesterday the opening of registration for its Aircraft Maintenance Engineers training program, inviting UAE high school graduates to apply starting this September.

The company stated that the four-year program, part of the UAE’s national talent development initiative, is managed under Flydubai’s Maintenance and Engineering Department. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to become certified engineers and technicians at Flydubai, accredited by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

The airline clarified that the training program is open to UAE nationals aged between 17 and 24 who meet the admission criteria. Participants will undergo intensive theoretical and practical training at Flydubai’s training facilities for up to four years.

Students who successfully complete the theoretical training and meet the required standards will advance to the next phase as aircraft technician trainees at Flydubai, gaining hands-on experience on operational aircraft. Upon program completion, they will be qualified to apply for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AMEL) from the GCAA and secure jobs as certified aircraft technicians with the company.

Nasser bin Kharbash, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Flydubai, said: “At Flydubai, we are committed to investing in the development of Emirati talents and creating opportunities for the next generation to build long-term careers in aviation.”

He added: “The CAR 147 certification of our Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and Technicians Training and Testing Center by the GCAA enables us to operate training programs and issue internal maintenance and engineering certificates, contributing to building a qualified national talent pool to support our ambitious growth plans.” He confirmed Flydubai’s continued investment in initiatives supporting the professional development of UAE nationals, including the new Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) training program and the cadet pilot program.
