German coach Hans Flick, manager of Barcelona, is dissatisfied with his team’s performance in the 2025/2026 La Liga season despite earning 7 points in the first 3 rounds, considering that the performance did not meet his expectations nor the level of pre-season preparations.

Barcelona started their campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Real Mallorca, followed by a 3-2 victory against Levante, then drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano. Despite acceptable results, the performance raised many questions, especially since the win against Mallorca came after two opposing players were sent off, and the team appeared weaker against Levante.

Marca newspaper reported that Flick expressed annoyance at some players’ selfishness and criticized the team’s lack of focus during certain periods. In the Mallorca match, he accused his players of losing concentration in the second half, while noting the absence of team spirit against Levante, considering that the team did not reflect the level of its previous preparations.

Barcelona has struggled defensively since the season began, with the departure of Iñigo Martínez having a clear impact both on the field and as a locker room leader. Defenders Araujo and Koubarsi made costly mistakes, while Koundé lost his starting spot to Eric Garcia, who played alongside Christensen against Rayo Vallecano. Defensive errors continued, notably the goal scored by Fran Pérez from a corner due to poor positioning.

The newspaper also revealed that the German coach himself made some tactical mistakes, especially in the Levante match which nearly ended in defeat. Defensive changes against Rayo Vallecano contributed to a lack of organization during set pieces, allowing the opponent to snatch a draw.

Barcelona is scheduled to face Valencia on Sunday, September 14, at Camp Nou in the fourth round of La Liga, at 10 PM Cairo and Mecca time. This match will be a new test for Flick and his players amid increasing pressure from fans and media.
