The entire international community has failed the “Gaza test” due to its neglect of the crimes committed by the extremist Israeli government against the unarmed Palestinian people in Gaza, who have been suffering for nearly two years under a fierce ongoing war that has devastated all aspects of life and pushed its residents back to a primitive existence amid unprecedented tragic conditions.

All global calls condemning the crimes in Gaza have found no echo, and all scenes of killing, displacement, starvation, and massive destruction broadcast live on media have not stirred the world’s human conscience. Instead, the more global condemnation increases, the more the occupation intensifies its war of extermination and ethnic cleansing against the people of the Gaza Strip, in clear defiance of everyone. Today, Gaza has become a disaster zone unfit for life, lacking shelter, food, water, medicine, and electricity.

A new harsh blow directed by the occupation to the international community is represented by the Israeli Ministerial Cabinet’s announcement of another fully-fledged crime added to the record of crimes committed by the extremist government against Palestine “the cause” and its people, under what is called the “Gaza Plan,” which involves expanding military control over the Strip in preparation for its full occupation and the displacement of its residents.

The “Gaza Plan” confirms a fixed reality: the Israeli government is defying the international community, disregarding international law, humanitarian law, UN resolutions, and international legitimacy decisions. It also confirms that this entity only understands the language of force and weapons, does not want security or peace, and will continue its war of extermination and starvation without accountability.

If this aggressive approach by the occupation is not stopped and continues, it will have severe consequences and high costs on international security and peace, which everyone will pay for. The peoples of the world will lose their trust in the international community and its laws and resolutions as they witness an unarmed civilian population being killed, starved, displaced, and tortured in broad daylight.

Jordan, which has expressed its categorical rejection and strong condemnation of this plan that undermines all efforts to stop the war on Gaza and to bring more aid to the afflicted Strip to end the humanitarian suffering of its people, confirmed that it will remain alongside the Palestinians until they regain their rights and establish their independent state on their national soil, whether sooner or later.

Today, the international community is required to awaken from its slumber, bear its legal, humanitarian, and moral responsibilities, exercise its powers, and use all its tools to prevent the implementation of this plan, which, if successful, will have catastrophic repercussions inside and outside Palestine.
