Media personality Amr Adib described Zamalek’s defeat against Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League’s top match as a continuation of a series of usual losses.
During the program “Al-Hekaya” broadcast on “MBC Masr,” he rejected the phrase “That’s life,” saying: “I don’t want to say that’s life, because life is wins and losses, not losses and losses… Life is a day for you and a day against you, not against and against?”
He pointed out that Al Ahly decided the match with unexpected substitute players, commenting: “Guys, Trezeguet hasn’t played since the start of the league! Al Ahly won the match thanks to Trezeguet and Hussein El Shahat who came on in the last 15 minutes.”
He believed the match result was not fair to Al Ahly’s true strength during the game, saying: “Al Ahly could have scored a heavy score, they could have won 3 or 4.”
He addressed Zamalek fans, announcing his surrender and withdrawal from any future optimism, saying: “I apologize greatly for the amount of optimism and projecting strength and challenge that I was doing. After this, I will sit quietly in a far corner until they tell me the match result. I do not intend to say ‘yeah’ for the next fifty years.”
He expressed his confusion about finding any change or logical reason for Zamalek’s defeats, commenting: “I found nothing different from what I have lived all my life, and I do not find the reason.”
Al Ahly club won on Monday evening against its rival Zamalek in the 131st derby, 2-1, in the ninth round of the Egyptian Premier League matches.
