The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, announced the imminent holding of a third meeting between the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to discuss Tehran’s nuclear file.

Eslami told Tasnim News Agency that the upcoming meeting is part of ongoing talks regarding inspection and supervision mechanisms over nuclear activities.

He explained that the recent inspection at the Bushehr nuclear plant was conducted according to Iranian parliamentary law and with permission from the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, with two international inspectors overseeing the fuel replacement process before their departure.

Eslami criticized what he described as the “influence of the hegemony system” on the IAEA’s management, pointing out that “the main problem lies in the personality of the Director General.”

He also affirmed that international laws are clear and based on the United Nations Charter, but what is happening is a “selective application and double standards.”

Regarding the “trigger mechanism,” Eslami emphasized that this issue is not new and that Iran had anticipated it in advance, adding: “Our enemies always look for excuses to pressure the Iranian people, but their goal to subdue the country has failed despite the sanctions.”
