Moussa Abu Taleb, producer of the film ‘Asad,’ revealed behind-the-scenes details of this large-scale production, which requires extensive preparation and rehearsals. The film takes us back to the period around 1800 and beyond, a historical era with specific details in clothing, sets, and accessories, all aimed to be presented cinematically with precision and accuracy. Preparations and inspections began over a year ago, with set designer Ahmed Faiz working alongside a large team of engineers and workers to create sets suitable for that historical period, in collaboration with director Mohamed Diab. Filming locations include 15 diverse sites across Cairo, its outskirts, and several governorates. Some sets, like the Media Production City, took about three months to complete. Costume designer Reem El Adl and her team worked for about six months to prepare clothing and accessories for nearly 2,000 people.

The film includes many choreographed action scenes led by world-renowned fight designer Kaloyan Vodenicharov, who trained the actors. The cast features around 70 actors, including 12 leads and guest stars from Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, and Sudan, plus over 50 supporting actors. ‘Asad’ is directed by Mohamed Diab, written by Sherine Diab, Mohamed Diab, and Khaled Diab, with cinematography by Ahmed Bashary, editing by Ahmed Hafez, set design by Ahmed Faiz, costume design by Reem El Adl, and music by Hisham Nazih. The cast includes Mohamed Ramadan, Lebanese actress Razan Jamal, Ali Qassem, Majid Al-Kadwani, Sudanese Islam Mubarak, Ahmed Dash, and Palestinian Kamel Al-Basha.
