Journalist Diaa Rashwan said the Peace Summit was different by all measures, not only for Egypt but for the Middle East and the Palestinian cause. He pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s statement summarizes this scene, as he said in his speech at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit: “The true leader is the one who prevents war, not the one who wages it.”

He explained during an interview with media personality Shady Shash on the “Studio Extra” program on Extra News channel that the decision to go to war can be made easily at any moment, either due to impulsiveness or underestimating the other side, but it often leads to disaster. He emphasized that possessing comprehensive power is what deters enemies and prevents conflicts, not just the desire for peace.

He added: “Comprehensive power does not only mean military strength but includes economy, politics, culture, media, and everything that makes a state strong and capable of protecting its interests. The world in international relations is not only governed by laws but by the power that enforces respect for these laws, as we see in Gaza, where no one forces Israel to implement international law.”

He concluded by clarifying that President Sisi’s statements express a deep understanding of wise leadership during crises, affirming that leaders do not avoid war out of weakness but because they have enough elements of power to deter and prevent it.

US President Donald Trump left Egypt on Monday evening after participating in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.

During the summit ceremonies, US President Donald Trump signed the “Gaza Agreement” alongside President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President Trump confirmed in his speech that the agreement between Israel and Hamas will hold and added that it is very comprehensive.

The Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit was held with the participation of leaders from more than 20 countries under the title “Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit” to end the war in the Gaza Strip and enhance efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East region.
