The Alexandria Supply Directorate launched campaigns targeting shops and municipal bakeries, resulting in the seizure of expired meat and liver at a grill shop, and the discovery of a bakery misusing 3 tons of subsidized flour.
This came in implementation of directives from Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and General Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria, along with strict instructions from Engineer Gamal Ammar, Director of the Supply and Internal Trade Directorate in Alexandria, to conduct campaigns on shops and municipal bakeries.
The Directorate’s Inspection Department, headed by Dr. Abdullah Osman, Director of the Department, Mohamed Adel, Director of Central Supply, Ahmed Ali, Head of Central Supply Inspection, and Ahmed Hassan, Head of Eastern Supply Inspection, carried out campaigns across the governorate. These led to the seizure of approximately 230 kg of expired meat and liver unfit for human consumption at a grill shop, and the discovery of a municipal bakery misusing 3 tons of subsidized local flour. Additionally, 12 reports were filed for producing underweight bread, along with 9 other reports for various violations in municipal bakeries. All legal procedures were taken against these violations.
