Researchers at the University of South Australia revealed that changes in the gut microbiome may affect brain chemistry, psychological stress, and behavior. Abnormal microbiome patterns were observed in patients with depression and schizophrenia, and interventions through beneficial bacteria, dietary changes, and gut microbiota transplantation showed promising results in improving mood and anxiety.
