Artist Sabry Fawaz said, “Cultural Palaces are the only gateway in Egypt’s provinces to present and highlight talents. When I went there, I found myself a young boy in front of the great artists who were there,” noting that there are 563 cultural sites in Egypt, of which 220 are operational.

Sabry Fawaz added during his guest appearance on the first episode of the podcast “Kalam Fi Al-Sinema” (Talk in Cinema), hosted by art critic Essam Zakaria on Al-Watha’iqiya channel, that the master “Shaaban” taught many people to play the oud, including Riyad Al-Sunbati.

Fawaz explained that for Cultural Palaces, a wall and a table with paper are enough for someone who knows how to engage talented people. He pointed out that he had difficulty reaching Baligh Hamdi, adding that his role in the film “Dokan Shehata” was a breakthrough and a significant presence for him in the cinema world.

The podcast aims to shed light on the Egyptian and Arab cinema industry, exploring artistic creativity and the challenges filmmakers face.

The program features interviews with artists, directors, and screenwriters, provides critical analyses of several cinematic works, and reviews behind-the-scenes production, character development, and scene construction techniques.

It also discusses the role of film criticism and the importance of balancing art and audience, as well as offering practical advice for young people wishing to enter the cinema world, in an initiative aimed at enriching the cinematic cultural scene and spreading knowledge about filmmaking.
