There is a strong bond between a pet and its owner, as the latter considers it one of their closest friends with whom they share the best moments. Therefore, one dog owner was terrified when doctors informed him that his Labrador dog, named Asia, had been diagnosed with cancer, according to the Irish Star website.

Asia was diagnosed with histiocytic sarcoma (HS), a rare and highly aggressive type of cancer that affects dogs. It develops from histiocytic cells, which are specialized immune system cells. This malignant tumor may remain confined to one area, including the skin, bones, or spleen tissues, or it may rapidly spread throughout the body.

Treatment involves surgery for localized cases and chemotherapy protocols for widespread or advanced stages, although the overall prognosis is not always favorable.

After the surgery in which Asia lost her leg, the next day it was announced that she was completely cured of cancer. However, her owner could hardly believe the news, and upon realizing it, he expressed his happiness by documenting the moment Asia woke up at home after her surgery, filming a video in which he cried intensely.

He wrote: “This was the first morning Asia woke up with a missing leg… she was very confused, and I can only imagine how hard it was for her to comprehend the situation.”
